ROM

Sze Jie & Patrick

On 10 October, two shy and gentle newlyweds registered their marriage at Chan She Shu Yuen. The day was lively: a crowd squeezed into the small room, everyone taking their own photos, and the two of them stayed endlessly patient. A little nervous in front of the camera, yet whenever they glanced at each other, I was almost blinded by the glow.

A close-up of the couple, faces turned toward each other
The couple and their families gathered at the entrance of Chan She Shu Yuen
The bride resting her chin on her hand, the groom beside her
The couple holding up their hands to show their rings
The couple's hands linked by their little fingers
The couple holding red double-happiness papercuts
A twirl beneath a red lantern at the courtyard
The couple standing under a flower arch in front of the hall
Hands and rings against the red dress
The couple seated together, smiling at one another
The bride looking down at the groom as he looks up
Exchanging a handshake and the marriage certificate with an officiant
The couple laughing in front of the double-happiness characters
The bride covering her smile, the groom laughing out loud
The groom placing the ring on the bride's finger
The groom, quietly emotional, holding the bride's hand
The couple holding their certificates, surrounded by family and friends
The couple glancing away beside the lanterns
